One day from Riga Fashion Week/2016
This was the first time I had a chance to attend the most famous event among people who are interested in fashion - Riga Fashion Week (RWF). Thanks to the Universe and some very nice people I've got invintations to two fashion shows of the one of the most famous Latvian designers - One Wolf and Katya Katya Shehurina.
First of all, what is RFW itself? As in many other countries, here in Riga there are two weeks in a year when all fashion poeple and bloggers, and designers, and journalists go nuts about seeing what famous Latvian designers have prepared for the next season. Now is fall, as I remember, so this RFW was all about fashion tendencies in Spring&Summer 2017.
Soooo, let's talk about the first show - One Wolf. In short, this is popular clothses label in Latvia founded in 2012 by Latvian fashion designer Agnese Narņicka. It's all about high street fashion, simple materials, raw denim, fade colours, baggy forms, uniq details and it's unisex. Pretty cool and interesting, in my opinion.
On RFW show they have prepared the new collection "The Ghost City" inspired by the Phantom cities that have come about as a result of ecological catastrophy and post-industrialisation, with the closing of mines and factories. Dead cities, frozen in the past.
Before the show itself they also showed a video, which perfectly explained you the name and theme of the collection SS17 "The Ghost City". (here is a link to the video -> https://onewolf.eu/en/user/collection/ghostcity )
In the collection dominates grey tones.
I liked a lot how simple the clothes was. And this urban stile looked somehow rebelously сhic.
After waiting half an hour in a que the Katya Katya Shehurina show has started. And again let me tell a little about the brand first.
Katya Shehurina is a London based designer from Riga who makes amazing wedding and evening dresses. Her dresses are very special, they look like from some fairytale - laces, silk and soo vintage!
On this RFW show Katya Katya Shehurina showed mostly evening dresses and just a few wedding dresses.
OMG THESE DRESSES! No really, if I wouldn't be a poor student, I would definately buy one...or all these dresses.
They are mostly made from shifon and look so light and fresh.
These sunglasses and hairstyle though make the look a bit harsh what I really like.
So, both collections were really good! I liked them a lot! Completely different styles, but still there was some similar rebelious spirit in them.
Well, I hope we will get a chance to visit the next RFW. Let's wait half a year and see how our lives will change.
Btw, here is my look on RFW SS17
See ya!
